Tradonline : Bonjour Emmanuel, quelques mots pour te présenter ?

Emmanuel : J’ai passé 20ans dans la publicité comme créatif en agence puis en free lance, ensuite j’ai fait un break en écrivant des concepts d’émissions et scenarii de courts métrages puis comme comédien surtout théâtre et quelques pastilles sur canal +… Je suis revenu sur la communication comme free lance puis chargé d’études marketing avant de lancer l’agence de création de marque d’innovation et de communication Nouveau Sens en Avril 2007, afin d’y développer un concept innovant, de l’éditer et de lancer in fine le site speednaming.com, la première agence de naming online, depuis le 1er trimestre 2008.Nouveau Sens est une agence d’innovation de communication et création de marque. Elle s’investit essentiellement dans des projets à forte valeur ajoutée demandant plus de disponibilité pour des clients petits ou grands…Speednaming.com est la première agence de naming on line traitant de front la partie créative et les aspects juridiques…Être un facilitateur des démarches administratives juridiques et créatives…

Tradonline :  La genèse de ton site http://www.speednaming.com  : l’idée de base – l’étincelle qui a fait que tu as décidé de te lancer ?
Emmanuel : Au début, j’avais la ferme intention d’être un acteur du net et j’ai donc développé plusieurs projets. Puis celui-ci est  devenu une évidence. Il n’y avait rien à l’époque sur le marché pouvant prendre à bras le corps les aspects juridiques et créatifs d’un seul coup de clic pour un quidam, une PME, un responsable de marque, sans parler des coûts excessifs qui dépassaient l’imagination de nombreux clients. La première amorce fut une amie qui me demanda un nom pour une manifestation publique.
Elle avait passé des nuits et n’y arrivait pas. A partir de là, l’idée a fait son chemin et a confirmé le fait qu’il fallait que je pousse plus loin le concept…L’idée finale étant de rendre le naming accessible à tous, une sorte de démocratisation de la création de marque .

Tradonline : Ton site en V2 est tout récent…entre ton projet papier, la V1 et la réalité du site actuellement, quelles sont les différences, les évolutions ?
Emmanuel : Bien sûr entre la V1 et aujourd’hui, il y a un fossé en effet. Entre-temps il ne faut pas oublier qu’il y a  eu la crise financière et celle-ci a fait le ménage un peu partout même dans notre profession. Il a fallu réajuster les offres, les rendre plus souples, abandonner les packs qui étaient un peu trop lourds et sans doute encore trop onéreux vu le contexte…

Tradonline : Comment vois-tu l’évolution de ton offre à horizon 1 an et plus ?
Emmanuel : Qui peut me parler de visibilité sur un an ? Difficile en ce moment…Pour ce qui est de l’offre, rien ne va bouger pour l’instant.

Tradonline : Au sujet de ton offre « brand monitoring », comment est organisé le backoffice, la fonction de production de ton offre ?
Emmanuel : La surveillance de marque fait tourner des serveurs spécialisés jours et nuits qui vont donner lieu à un rapport en fonction des résultats de la surveillance…Dans ce rapport, on jugera s’il y a une similitude, un réel danger pour la marque mise sous surveillance…

Tradonline : Le sujet du contrôle/monitoring est un vrai sujet…On parle de plus en plus du monitoring de sa présence online (identité personnelle numérique), une entreprise basée à Londres a récemment beaucoup communiqué sur ce sujet et propose des services de « correction » de la réputation ? Est-ce différent du brand monitoring et penses-tu aller aussi sur ce sujet ?
Emmanuel : Nous sommes avant tout une agence de création de nom et speednaming, une agence online… Nous ne toucherons pas à l’e-réputation ou au personnal branding, gestion de sa propre image qui est assez loin du métier de création de marque…Oui, c’est différent du brand monitoring puisque nous n’avons pas encore déposé notre nom de famille (sourire) quoique certains le déposent quand le produit ou le service porte le même nom que son créateur…Non, je pense qu’il faut apprendre, comme dans la vie tout simplement, à faire attention à ce que l’on dit, ce que l’on écrit ou diffuse, même cette interview qui sera publique et qui sera lue par la concurrence. Il est donc important de maîtriser ses propres informations. Pour ce qui est du brand monitoring, une société qui a engagé de l’argent pour créer sa marque et la faire vivre considère que sa marque est un actif de l’entreprise. Il est alors légitime de la mettre sous surveillance pour tenter d'éviter que certains altèrent son potentiel, en tirant profit de sa notoriété par exemple.

Tradonline : Nous sommes une agence de traduction et nos clients nous demandent parfois de traduire leurs campagnes de SEO (portefeuille de mots clés) en fonction de la pertinence de tel ou tel mot clé. Tu as une offre France, Europe et Monde. As-tu intégré la traduction dans ton offre ou à défaut, le contrôle de références en plusieurs langues ? Sur quelles ressources t’appuies-tu pour faire du monitoring dans toutes les langues ?

Emmanuel : Nous ne surveillons que la marque dans sa globalité en faisant abstraction de son sens. Quand nous surveillons une marque, celle-ci doit ne faire aucune allusion à une marque enregistrée ni avoir une quelconque similitude avec une marque connue. Dans le cas contraire, nous le signalons dans le rapport

Tradonline : Concernant speednaming, nous sommes parfois sollicités aussi pour opérer un contrôle linguistique des noms potentiels (sens cachés, sentiments à la lecture, etc., contre propositions…) et nous nous appuyons sur notre réseau de traducteurs. Comment procèdes-tu de ton côté ?
Emmanuel : Nous avons des correspondants mais pas assez à mon goût et finalement c’est vrai, j’y vois là une synergie dont je n’avais pas pensé. Je vais vous contacter prochainement à ce sujet.

Tradonline : Quels sont les conseils, si tu en as, que tu souhaites donner à de futurs entrepreneurs ?
Emmanuel : Quoiqu’ils fassent l’idée de départ va fatalement évoluer et à mon sens c’est cette évolution qui va faire booster l’entreprise.
On ne peut se lancer sans prendre en compte les paramètres extérieurs : le bateau peut être très beau, les voiles de haute technicité, c’est en pleine mer, en fonction de la vitesse du vent, de l’état de la mer et de son propre comportement face aux imprévus que l’on arrivera ou non à bon port…

Tradonline : Profitons de cet espace qui t’est donné, aujourd’hui, que recherches-tu ?
Emmanuel : Plein de choses….speednaming est une marque communautaire. Dans ce cadre, je souhaiterais créer des antennes en Europe. S’il y a des candidats, je suis ouvert…Je cherche aussi des rédacteurs adeptes de la création de marque afin d’étoffer mon réseau de créatifs. Enfin, un peu plus de curiosité aussi de la part d’une certaine presse…Heureusement que vous êtes là pour nous donner cet espace et à ce titre, je vous remercie.

Le master européen de traduction est lancé…une excellente nouvelle pour la filière professionnelle de la traduction

Une des concrétisations très opérationnelle de l'étude sur le marché européen de la traduction a été le lancement récent du master européen de traduction. 34 programmes d'université ont été sélectionnés pour participer à ce programme européen (voir ci dessous les programmes retenus).

Les objectifs sont les suivants :

- créer un label européen de qualité des différentes formations.

- identifier les compétences que doivent et devront détenir les traducteurs diplômés (voir le document suivant pour une liste exhaustive) :

• 1 – dimension de service (axe interpersonnelle, axe production)
• 2 – dimension linguistique 
• 3 – dimension interculturelle 
• 4 -  dimension extraction d'information 
• 5 – dimension thématique  
• 6 – dimension technologique.

Autour d'une organisation : un comité de pilotage, des groupes projet, des experts et un input fort de la recherche. Ce programme est extrêmement intéressant et illustre une fois de plus que le métier de traducteurs se complexifie. Une maitrise de langues est essentielle certes…mais savoir porter un service, identifier, séduire et conserver des clients, utiliser des outils variés, rester au courant des évolutions de son secteur de prédilection, savoir construire une grille tarifaire, etc…

On s'achemine tout droit vers un glissement traducteur–> micro-entrepreneur, voir auto-entrepreneur (glissement déjà réalisées par les traducteurs les plus "business oriented").

Today we have the pleasure of interviewing David Talamelli, working for Oracle and based in Australia.

Tradonline: Hi David, could you please introduce yourself in a few words?
David: My name is David Talamelli – I am one of the Principal Recruiters for Oracle in the APAC region and I am a social media/blogging enthusiast.

Tradonline: Let’s talk first about you, and your work. Please tell us about your business and your industry.
David: I am a Principal Recruiter for Oracle Corporation in the APAC Region and am based in Melbourne, Australia. In my role I am responsible for end to end recruitment for Oracle across Australia and New Zealand with exposure across other APAC countries.  I have been with Oracle in their APAC Recruitment Division since early 2006. I have 10+ years IT Recruitment experience with previous roles onsite at Hewlett-Packard and also at GAP IT Consulting. I created and run Oracle’s Global Recruitment Blog which has grown to over 1600+ subscribers over the last 12 months.

Tradonline: What is your involvement in the international arena? What is your strategy to target markets abroad?
David: Oracle has a Global Team of Recruiters who are responsible for sourcing, identifying and attracting talented individuals into our company. As part of my role I work with colleagues from all locations and have handled recruitment campaigns in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and India.

Tradonline: How do you see the future of your industry?
David: The Recruitment Industry has a bright future for those Recruiters who can provide a real value added service to their clients and for those who can provide a high level of customer service. I think in recruitment we are seeing these changes taking place:

•     Web 2.0 technologies will continue to gain acceptance and usage in the Recruitment Industry.
•     Candidates will make decisions about joining your company based on information from multiple sources.
•     Recruitment is becoming a much more transparent function than it has been in the past.
•     Recruitment is no longer just about recruiting; it is increasingly taking on marketing/branding responsibility.
•     There is less reliance on reactive candidate sourcing strategies and greater use of proactive recruitment practices.
   

Tradonline: Do you find that your industry has been hit by the down turn at all?
David: Over the past 12 months we have not have had as many open vacancies as we have had in previous years, however we are now starting to see many of our businesses getting busier and again focusing on their recruitment needs. From my understanding the Recruitment Industry in general has gone through a large consolidation as a result of this downturn.

Tradonline: We work at Trad Online in the translation industry, tell us your vision from outside the industry: what is your perception of translators, translation agencies, etc?
David: In my experience I have not required the support of a translation agency and have not had the opportunity to really explore this industry in any level of depth. At this stage I do not have any perception (either negative or positive) about the translation industry.

Tradonline: Now a few questions about another point of interest: blogging… What would you recommend to someone wishing to start a blog? Any tips on “good blogging”?
David: I think these are a few good points to remember if you are going to start blogging:

•     Being genuine – It’s all about karma. Be human
•     Being committed – Blog regularly and reply to you readers, that’s what your blog is for
•     Being interesting – Don’t be afraid to express your thoughts and opinions
•     Treat your online networks the same way you would treat your in person networks
   

Tradonline: What made you initially want to start blogging?
David: I started the Oracle Recruitment Blog for a few different reasons:

•     Provide people with an insight into what it is like to work at Oracle
•     Provide people with an avenue to contact us about potential opportunities at Oracle
•     Talk to a community of readers and share information that will help them in job search. It is about contributing and engaging with people
•     Provide an unbiased Recruiters viewpoint that Candidates do not always get exposure to

I enjoy blogging I think because I enjoy writing, for me sometimes it is a good release valve to express my thoughts, ideas and opinions and it provides a bit of a creative spark to my day.

Tradonline: What is the future of blogging according to you? What is at stake for companies and the business world?
David: I think a Blog should be an expression of both your individual and your company’s values. Blogs are not meant to be a press release or marketing strategy but I think they should give people an honest peek into a company’s culture and industry. Blogging is not not new, however it has crossed into mainstream communication. I think that companies who do not utilize this communication channel to talk to their customers/clients are putting themselves at a disadvantage as they are missing out on the opportunity to communicate to a wide audience of readers.

Tradonline: How do you tell the world about the existence of your blog? Any tips on how to increase visibility, other than by providing great content to readers?
David: I think content is king when it comes to increasing visibility of your blog. If you are not providing content that interests people and share information that your readers want to read, you will struggle to gain many readers. Besides quality content, off the top of my head – If you utilize many of the SEO tools you will help ensure that people can find you when they are looking for your area of expertise in their searches.

Let’s talk first about you, and your work. Please tell us about your business and your industry.

Dragan: I am in sales and marketing since 1992 and in internet marketing since 1997. I work as a creative consultant helping small and mid sized businesses and entrepreneurs to become more successful with their business.
Actually, about 200 million blogs are registered worldwide.
There are 200,000 new blogs registered every day!
I discovered that the growth of the blog sphere is not accompanied by monetizing opportunities for bloggers. Therefore I decided to set up a ‘different’ kind of blog ad network to bring Bloggers and Advertisers together to complement and to profit from each other.
It’s very simple: Advertisers create opportunities that describe the content they are looking to promote. Bloggers then choose opportunities in their area of interest and get paid to blog about that chosen topic.

 What is your involvement in the international arena? What is your strategy to target markets abroad?

Trad Online: How do you see the future of your industry?

Dragan: A blog is the first and effective way for a business to get into social media! I recommend, before you do anything, before you start your business, invest your time in marketing, etc. start a blog first!

Blogging is growing by a breath taking speed! Everyday about 200,000 new blogs are registered. About 45% of bloggers actually monetize their blogs.
Most monetize them with Google Adsense. About 15% monetize their blog through specialized blog ad networks. I guess that new bloggers out there even don’t know that there exists something like a blog ad network out there where they can make significant dollars instead of pennies.

Trad Online: Do you find that your industry has been hit by the down turn at all?

Dragan: Because my project is actually not online, I am not hit by the down turn. In my opinion a down turn is no excuse to stop doing anything. Rather advertising in blogs and blogging are powerful ways to achieve your business goals a more sustainable way.

Businesses with a low or no existing customer care level are sorted out quickly and will not survive.

We better should take this actual economical situation as it is. As a great chance!

Trad Online: We work at Trad Online in the translation industry; tell us your vision from outside the industry: what is your perception of translators, translation agencies, etc?

Dragan: This is a good question! This is also a great and important subject during the development of the BlogAdMonkey.com blog ad network platform, because we are going to translate our platform as well. In my opinion, it is very important that translators are native speakers. Also important is that they have knowledge to translate like marketers and last but not least understand the industry!

Trad Online: Any tips about doing business in your country? (Our readers are from all over the world). Any dos and don’ts?

Dragan: Like for every country, ask for references first!

Trad Online: Now a few questions about another point of interest:  What would you recommend to someone wishing to start a blog? Any tips on “good blogging”?

At first, ask yourself why do you want to blog?
To have the right motivation is essential.
For example, my blog is made as an introduction for the BlogAdMonkey blog ad network, not to make money from ads!

Third, become familiar with SEO/ SEM and Internet/ Inbound Marketing. Engage in Social Media. Because no blog is successful which is not promoted!

Trad Online: What made you initially want to start blogging?

Dragan: I have started blogging to introduce the upcoming BlogAdMonkey.com blog ad network. Furthermore to spread the free information I have in my blog to help others and to build a recognized name to make the market entry for the BlogAdMonkey ad network a little bit easier

Trad Online: What is the future of blogging according to you? What is at stake for companies and the business world?

Dragan: I think the future for blogging will be great. More and more micro and small business discover blogging as a cost effective way to get into interaction with their clients and prospects. This offers great opportunities like direct and honest feedback, lead generation, positioning as experts in their field, and much more.
The bigger companies follow this example a little bit slower but they follow.
Bloggers to make a living of their blogging are on the right way. More and more advertisers will look out for blogs in their niche to spread the word about their products and services. This results in a growing ad sales revenue potential for the blog sphere and the involved bloggers.

Trad Online: How do you tell the world about the existence of your blog? Any tips on how to increase visibility, other than by providing great content to readers?

Dragan: I think this is one of the most important things. Be controversial! Don’t be everybody’s darling, provoke but don’t be insulting!
Furthermore you need to engage in social media and let your targeted niche know that you have valuable information for free. 
VERY IMPORTANT: Become familiar and learn SEO/ SEM and Internet/ Inbound Marketing.
