Je me fais ici le relai de la demande d'Helena Blancafort, Responsable des Développements linguistiques du laboratoire Syllabs.

Le projet TTC est un projet européen dont l'objectif est décrit comme suit : it aims at leveraging machine translation tools (MT tools), computer-assisted translation tools (CAT tools) and multilingual content management tools by automatically generating bilingual terminologies from comparable corpora in five European languages (English, French, German, Spanish and one under-resourced language, Latvian), as well as in Chinese and Russian. On voit bien l'importance du sujet aujourd'hui pour la Communauté Européenne et au-delà.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our survey about terminology and corpora practices in relation to the TTC project which is granted financial support from the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme. We appreciate your input and it is VERY important to us since it will contribute to define the specifications of the tools to be developed during the project. TTC aims at extracting bilingual terminology automatically from comparable corpora to enhance translation tools (computer-assisted translation and machine translation). The major project goal is to provide an online platform for working with terminology and corpora. In order to get a better knowledge of user needs, we are running this survey.
