Dernière annonce en date, Google a annoncé  par l’intermédiaire de Matthew Glotzbach, directeur de la gestion des produits qu’il allait intégrer dans son service Gmail une fonctionnalité de traduction d’email. L’annonce a été faite au cours d’une Keynote ayant eu lieu à Sydney. Disponibilité de la fonctionnalité dès cette semaine.

During a keynote address at the CeBit conference and exhibition in Sydney Tuesday, Google’s product management director Matthew Glotzbach made the announcement, saying the integration should be available by Wednesday.

The new Gmail capability allows users to translate a foreign language e-mail in their inbox with one click.

Google has previously hinted at a translation service for Gmail.

Speaking about the benefits of cloud computing to the enterprise, Glotzbach touted the additional capabilities of cloud systems.

"Gone are the days when moving something to the Web means losing functionality," he said. "Cloud computing is no longer an ‘if’ but a ‘when’ and when is now."
